Call For Artists

Dear Artists,
Spring is quickly approaching meaning hibernation season is soon over and people are going to be out and about looking for things to do. We are excited to announce a brand new series of craft shows this summer! Paste and The Soulard Business Association are proud to present The Soulard Market Park Arts and Crafts Fair. An event featuring local artists as well as street performers, food vendors and live music. There are three event dates May 15, June 19, and July 17. The fair will take place in the Soulard Market Park located at the corner of 9th and Lafayette. Fair hours are from 9am-3pm.
We are excited about this fantastic opportunity to hold shows at the Soulard Market Park. We will be able to make the most of the large crowd that is already in attendance for the farmer’s market. We have also carefully chosen the fair dates to coincide with other happenings in Soulard that would draw additional crowds to the area. With a readily-available audience, tons of advertising and promotion planned for the fair – we are sure to be a huge success!
Each artist will be given a 12×12 space. The artists are required to bring their own tents, tables and display items. If there are more than two artists sharing a booth there will be an additional fee. There is a $5 non refundable application fee. Booth fees are $50 a space per event. Any artists who wishes to sign up for all three dates (and is accepted) will receive a discounted price of $30 for the last fair date. Payment must be made in full for all dates in which you are accepted no later than 14 days after the acceptance email. All items sold MUST be handmade! Application deadlines are April 15th .
May 15th is quickly approaching, so make sure you reserve your spots ASAP! If you have any questions please contact Katie at Paste. Application can be emailed or dropped off at Paste. Application fee must be postmarked no later than 5 days after you submit your application.
Sincerely,
Katie Shanahan

This sounds like a great show! What type of artists are allowed? I have a natural skin care line. Would this type of craft be considered eligible?
Hi Julie, as long as you make all of your products yourself you should be more than fine! It’s always nice to have a variety of items for shoppers!
Katie
Katie,
I recycle/upcycle purses by handpainting them, along with jewelry made from vintage, broken, and just bits and pieces, plus my art pieces. I wanted to know if these would be considered handmade for your shows coming up? Please check out my shop on etsy and take a stroll through my doodled world and let me know. I am very interested in the craft shows coming up.
Thanks so much,

I am starting a handmade clothing line this year. I don’t have a web sit yet, but hope to soon. I do have some photos, which I could e-mail. Would this be ok for the photo link requirement?
Hi Alison,
Emailed pictures would be perfect!
Thanks,
Katie
Paste
Hi! Can artists share booths? Also, are you accepting photography?
Thanks!
Hi Jessica,
Yes up to 2 artists can share a booth for no additional fee. And also yes we are accepting photography.
Thanks,

Paste
Can I sent a normal email to Paste so that I can attach photos? I’m not sure how to do it using these e-mail forms.
Alison,
please send them and your application to pasteevents@gmail.com
Thanks,
Katie
Ok, well I will just drop the application off and e-mail the photos. I have a new mac and I’m not sure how to scan the application from my printer to my new computer. I could fax I suppose. I have saved the application file on my desktop, but I am unable to edit it. I’m not sure why, maybe the font or incompatible format. Is anyone else having this trouble? Or am I just awfully computer challenged?
You can also mail the application and application fee if that is more convenient for you. I haven’t heard of other problems with the application.

WHAT ARE THE TENT REQUIREMENTS?
This sounds great. Are there still openings for the May 15th date?
ooh…missed out on this! But I looked at the list of artists signed up, and I’ll definitely stop buy to browse, drool, and shop!
Hello!
If I don’t have a tent, would a patio umbrella be okay? Also, do you have any fused glass artists lined up? I slump beer/wine bottles and fuse photographs to the glass. Yes, I’m also the photographer
Thank you,
Nancy
Hi Nancy,
Which show’s did you apply to? I have a few Nancy’s so I’m not sure which one this is:) Tents are preferred because we can’t predict the weather but an umbrella would work as well.
Thanks,
Katie
